Tawni' Pizzagoni's dance training first started in the studio, where she performed with the company teams at Dance Connection Performing Arts Centre in Concord, California. Her early training consisted of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary technique. She then continued to study modern dance technique throughout college at Diablo Valley College (DVC) and San José State University (SJSU), and Mills College. While at DVC, she joined COterie DAnce Company under the artistic director, Kimberly Valmore. This is where she was introduced to Afro-Haitian dance and Hip-Hop. During her senior year at SJSU, she joined the student pre-professional dance company, University Dance Theater, where she performed both jazz and modern pieces. Tawni currently holds a bachelor’s degree in both applied mathematics and dance as well as a Master of Fine Arts Degree in dance at Mills College. She began teaching throughout the San Francisco Bay Area beginning in 2013, teaching jazz dance at local dance studios including virtual instruction during the shelter-in-place orders. Tawni has extensive experience in teaching ballet, jazz, contemporary, and acro dance to students ages 5 to adult and is excited to enter the studio each day to share her passion of dance.
